Without doubt the most popular tourist disctrict in Seoul is Myeongdong. What can I say almost 80% people in Myeongdong is surely tourist, mostly come from China and Japan. Don't think Myeongdong is only for makeup junkie, the fact there are also tons of fashion boutiques, restaurants, cafes and street food that you should definitely visit and try.

How to get to Myeongdong

- Myeongdong Station: Line 4 (Blue Line), Exit 5/6/7/8, or

- Euljiro 1(il-ga) Station: Line 2 (Green Line), Exit 5/6

As you can tell, Myeongdong has abundant stores and brands. Literally, #ILostControl when in Myeongdong. You can buy korean skincare and makeup products for 30% to 60% of what you pay in Indonesia - crazy right? Oh come on, how can you resist this kind of temptation?

Here's some things you may want to know when you're in Myeogdong, Seoul :

1. You can get TAX-FREE claims

Almost every shop give you tax-free receipt in a very nice envelope without you ask. I'm not sure about the amount to hit if you want get tax-free receipt, but mostly I get the tax-free receipt even when I just buy only 1 item. However, I can't claiming the tax-free because I had super-early flight.

2. Almost all staff speak Chinese really well

Okay, when I say there're lot of Chinese tourist it must be A LOT. That's why they have staff that can speak Chinese really well - also there're a lot Chinese people work in Myeongdong. If you can speak Chinese -even just a little- you're save in Seoul. Then, what if you can't speak Korean or Chinese? They'll open the calculator and give you the price. So, ALL IS WELL ! Shopping must go on, language is not a problem anymore.

FACT : Mostly Koreans can speak Chinese. They do believe if they can speak Chinese, it's easier to them to get job.

3. They ACTUALLY give you free mask to lure you into the stores

This is super funny! I never seen any marketing like this before. So the staff will stand in front of the stores and shout "Pretty ladies, here's free mask for you" and when you want to get the mask, the staff will lure you into the stores. Once, my friend actually take the mask but didn't want to enter the stores. You know what, the staff didn't let go the mask! How funny isn't it? HAHAHA

4. Buy 10 get 10 free, even better get FREE sample

Do not buy your skincare products anywhere else in Seoul or in fact Korea – if you have to buy cosmetic/skincare products, buy them all here in Myeongdong. It's not a secret that cosmetics and skincare in Korea are very cheap, since that is where they come from. The price itself already crazy cheap compared with counter price in Indonesia, and you can get another promotion like buy one get one free, or even crazier you can buy 30 mask and get 30 FREE.

It's not enough to get 50% off? Relax girls. When you buy, even only one item, ask the cashier for free samples and they'll give you generously. Thanks God, I'm in make up paradise.

See you in next post. Cheers!
